Emily King is a wealth & abundance coach and owner of The Rich Woman. Emily helps women entrepreneurs get out of their head and take action so they can make the money they desire, build a business they love and manifest beyond what they ever imagined!

Emily’s journey began at the age of 25 years old, when she found herself unfulfilled, broke and crying herself to sleep at night wondering what she was meant to do in her life. As fate would have it, Emily found a life coach to work with and quickly found herself making massive shifts in her life. By the age of 27 she had built her first ever half-a-million-dollar dream home, she went from over $20K of debt to over $100K in savings and at 28 began running her own successful coaching business, selling out courses, transforming lives and manifesting more money in her life than she ever thought possible!

Emily’s coaching has helped women in this world manifest $10’s of thousands of dollars, promote to new levels in their business, and most of all feel truly connected to their purpose and love their life and journey. Emily has made it her mission to help women step into their greatness so they can embrace the rich woman life of abundance, freedom and flow.

Back in 2011 I graduated with a MBA and thought the world would be my oyster! I thought I would know exactly what I wanted to do, I figured EVERYONE would want to hire me (cause that's how it works, right?!), and I thought I would set the world on fire.

Unfortunately, that did not happen.

That summer I found myself in over $20K in debt, no job, no passion and no sense of fulfillment.

I always knew I was meant to do something “more” in my life and the fact that I was nowhere near that and had no idea what the hell I was doing sucked...a lot. I was crying myself to sleep every night thinking, “there HAS to be more to life than just this?!”

I desired to travel the world,
Go on incredible adventures,
Inspire people,
Make a difference in this world
Have an abundance of money
...the list goes on.

SO WHAT HAPPENED?

My “breakdown” became my breakthrough...

Though divine intervention I came across the name of a “life coach” (I didn’t even know they existed at the time) and decided to take a leap of faith and bet on myself and sign up for her program.

From that point onward everything changed for me.

I started listening to what my soul wanted and despite not having all the answers, not knowing all the “how’s”, I believed in myself and went for it anyway.

I changed my lack stories, I changed my negative mindset, and opened my eyes to this beautiful world began claiming my piece of it!

What does that look like?

The years that followed that “breakdown” have been one incredible journey.

From building my dream home, to marrying my best friend, to serving this world massively through my work, and having more time and financial freedom then I ever thought possible, I am one rich woman!

Lemme tell you...life is freaking GOOD, and it just keeps getting better!

It’s my purpose and passion to help transform as many women’s lives as possible. To help them remember their birthright - that you get to have it all. This is one incredible, beautiful world we live in filled with love, kindness, and joy and you get to live a life you LOVE, unapologetically. If I can do it, so can you.

What are you most proud of professionally? And who or why?

Whenever I get asked this question I always respond with "getting started". I'm so proud of myself for getting started before I felt "ready". Why? Because it was the scariest thing I've ever had to do. I was scared of judgment, scared of failing, scared of not being good enough - but I did it anyway. Starting was the best thing I've ever done!

What's your vision for Atlantic Canada in 10 years? What’s our biggest opportunity now?

There is so much freaking talent in Atlantic Canada. SO MUCH. I think it's going to be so fun to watch as we see more and more talent coming to life and more businesses starting up with all the accessibility we have now to do so. Our biggest opportunity is how easy it is to get started...there is no shortage of information on how to do whatever it is that you want! I can't wait to see what new talent and business emerges in the coming years. It's going to be a lot of fun!

What was your greatest stage of growth?  What made it a shift for you?

My greatest stage of growth came right after I invested in a coach after about a year of no growth in my business. I had been talking a talk, but not walking any walk for MONTHS in my business and it was driving me nuts. I finally decided to hire a high-end coach who kicked my butt, and not long after that my business took off. I went from hiding to unstoppable. Any ideas I had, I put them into action. Fears seemed non-existent as I just kept taking action after action to grow and serve women with my coaching.

What's your favourite or most read book or podcast?

My all time favourite book is The Abundance Book by John Randolph Price. A close second is Mach II With Your Hair On Fire by Richard Bliss Brooke. They were two of the first books I read on my personal development journey 7 years ago, and I've lost count of how many times I've read them. The Abundance Book truly changed the way I see money and abundance, and made me realize that there is literally nothing that I cannot have or do in life.

What's your deepest learning from this past year? How did/will you apply it?

Daring greatly was my biggest learning this year.

I find that we limit ourselves so much, and the honest truth is we have what it takes RIGHT NOW to do what it is that we say we want.

At the beginning of this year I committed to daring greatly. I told myself that whatever it was that I felt in my heart I wanted to do, I would act on it without hesitation. And so I did.

One of those things was hosting my own Rise Up, Rich Woman Retreat this summer. To ensure I wouldn't back out I booked the retreat space back in January. It was the scariest thing I've ever done and it's also been the most rewarding and fulfilling thing. I have two events coming up in September that I also booked and committed to before the head noise could tell me not to.

Daring greatly is a fun way to live and grow!

Who's inspired you, directly or indirectly? How have they inspired you?

Amanda Maynard. My first ever coach and my now lifelong friend. She saw something in me that I couldn't see for myself when I started on this journey 7 years ago. She has inspired me countless times to keep going. She's been a rock for me, a cheerleader, a friend and an inspiration to me more than she'll ever know. I seriously wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for her.

What would you have done differently?

In all honesty, nothing. I love my journey and looking back I can see how every twist and turn has made me for the better.

What were your priorities and how did they help you overcome some of the struggles you've faced? What motivated you to make the choices you've made? What are the principles you live by?

Action has been my priority.

I like to say that action outruns the ego (ego, as in that little voice in your head telling you that you're no good). We can do allllll the mindset work in the world, we can talk all day about what we want to do, throw out ideas, have big dreams and goals - but if we never take any action, then it's all just a waste.

Just when the ego wants to tell me "nooooo don't do that, it won't work!" or "What if you fail? What if no one likes it?!", I just keep moving forward and do it anyways (the ego HATES when I do that).

What motives me is living my best life. I know that sounds so cliche, but seriously, when I show up at the pearly gates at the end of my days I want to have the biggest smile on my face saying "WOW, that was one AWESOME life I got to live!".

The other thing I live by is that it's selfish to doubt yourself. This helps motivate me to take action just when I feel like giving up. I believe we are all given beautiful gifts and talents to share with the world, and that silly doubt stops so many of us. How many wonderful things has this world missed out on because of doubt? I refuse to doubt myself anymore.

How have you recovered from fractured professional relationships?  What uncomfortable truths have you learned about yourself in those experiences)?
